Mr. Sumaida has over 32 years of real estate development and construction management experience in New York City and Miami, with upwards of $1.5 billion of completed and in-development projects.
His most notable projects in New York include a 37-story, 450-foot luxury residential tower in Midtown West designed by Pritzker Award-winning master architect Álvaro Siza, a luxury residential project in Nolita designed by another Pritzker Laureate, Tadao Ando, and a residential tower in West Chelsea designed by renowned architectural firm, SCDA architects.
He is currently in development on several projects, including a 25-story, 330,000 GSF tower in Upper Manhattan and two Class A+ office developments in the South of Fifth neighborhood in Miami Beach, designed by Pritzker Award-winning master architect, Eduardo Souta de Moura and master architect, Alberto Campo Baeza.

He is engaged in all aspects of the development process from conception to implementation.
Mr. Sumaida started Foundations Group, in 1993. The firm has become one of the most reputable non-union construction management firms in New York City. As a construction manager for both his own projects and other developers’, Mr. Sumaida has built over 2.5 million SF of luxury condominium developments, boutique hotels, office buildings, high-end residential interiors and significant retail properties in Manhattan.
His work has been written up in innumerable publications, including the New York Times the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, the New Yorker, and exhibited in the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Museum of The City of New York, and the MoMA, among other museums and galleries.
